One of the most important parts of studying abroad is getting to know the city you are in. This doesn’t just mean doing the sites, if that was the case you’d know any city in the world in less than a week. We all know that isn’t the case and we’re here to make sure your experience of China isn’t only the sites (but we acknowledge you do have to see them!).

How it works?

Throughout the semester we’ll hit up all the must see sites (and a few more) in and around the city. All the site visits are combined with a restaurant visit giving everyone a chance to sample as many different cuisines of China as possible, as well as getting to know all the local spots that would be hard to find without a little help! On top of that there will be occasional non-cultural excursions that are dependent on events going on in China at any particular time. Our rules are as long as it is an experience, it is worth it. It may be a Soccer/Football game, or a particular art exhibition from an up and coming Chinese artist. If it is expanding horizons and makes your week less average (if that is even possible in China), then we’ll endorse and encourage it. As we like to say at EIC, experience matters.
