While the benefits of learning Mandarin Chinese are well documented, we at EIC feel that learning the language is merely scratching the surface when it comes to trying to fully understand and experience China.

China, as a country and a civilization, has a history of over 3000 years dating back to the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties from which the country as we know it today has evolved. China has a rich culture and history, vastly different to the Western World, and embracing its customs and traditions is the only way to fully understand the nation and its people.

To this end, we encourage our students to go further than simply attending language classes. As well as studying Chinese, our students are offered the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture. We organize weekly sightseeing trips and activities that are specifically designed to help students better understand the history of China. We also offer an extensive range of electives and extra-curricular classes, from Chinese cooking to Kung-Fu and traditional calligraphy, in order to provide insight into Chinese culture. We also arrange internships in professional local and multinational companies to promote integration of our students into the Chinese workplace.
